Iloilo City will host 2009 PSM Visayas Convention     

The Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. (PSM) – Visayas Regional Chapter will hold its 17th Annual Meeting and Regional Scientific Convention with the theme “The Incredible Microbes: Wealth and Wonders” on 22-23 October 2009 at Punta Villa Hotel and Resort, Arevalo, Iloilo City. Scientific and technical sessions consisting of competing and non-competing oral and poster paper presentations, invited speakers, keynotes and workshops in different areas of microbiology will take place during the convention. Call for Papers for Student Research Competition

     Papers are invited for oral and poster presentations in the PSM Visayas'  17th Annual Meeting and Regional Scientific Convention on October 22-23, 2009. The main focus is Microbiology dealing on Basic, Agricultural, Veterinary, Environmental, Industrial, Education, Food, Medical or Aquatic research.  Entries submitted should indicate whether it is for oral or poster presentation. No entry can be considered for both categories. There will be three categories for poster and oral presentations:

   Level 1: Secondary Level
Open to all students in public and private schools in Visayas Region for school year 2009-2010. High School students should not be more than 21 years old. Schools may send more than one entry.

   Level 2: Tertiary Level
Open to all students enrolled in BS Biology, BS Medical Technology, BS Public Hygiene, BS Pharmacy, BS Nursing, BSEd (Biology or General Science), Life Sciences or related fields in all tertiary schools in Visayas Region for Academic Year 2008-2009/2009-2010. Schools may send more than one entry.

   Level 3: Graduate Level
Open to all students enrolled graduate schools in Visayas Region for Academic Year 2008-2009/2009-2010. Schools may send more than one entry.

Deadline for submission of abstracts and manuscripts is on 30 September 2009 and entries should be sent to:
